INGREDIENTS: lyophilized infusion of the aboveground parts of chanca piedra (phyllanthus niruri) prepared according to a traditional recipe of Peruvian medicine, hydroxypropyl cellulose capsule shell.

Chanca piedra is a small perennial plant belonging to the Euphorbiaceae family, popularly known as "stone breaker." The plant is commonly used in Peruvian folk medicine and in home treatments for swelling and urinary tract infections. Research on chanca piedra began in the 1960s. More than 50 compounds have been identified in extracts, including alkaloids, flavonoids, lignans and triterpenes, as well as tannins, saponins and vitamin C. The plant has been shown to have liver-protective (these properties are attributed to phyllanthin and hypophyllanthin), antidiabetic, pain-relieving, blood pressure-lowering, antispasmodic, antiviral, antibacterial, diuretic or anti-mutagenic effects. USE: Swallow the capsule and drink plenty of water. Recommended daily allowance: one capsule (1350 mg) three times a day. The recommended daily serving contains 1050 mg of lyophilized infusion of chanca piedra ground parts. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving.
